Who Owns the Work Created During a Tafaria Art Residency?
How ownership and copyright work for art created during a Tafaria residency.
The artist retains ownership of work created during a Tafaria residency. Creating the work at Tafaria does not transfer copyright to the Center for the Arts.
Ownership and credit
The work remains the artist's property, and crediting Tafaria is not a condition of ownership. Any separate arrangement involving acquisition, exhibition, reproduction or commissioning should be agreed specifically with the artist.
Documentation during the residency
Photography, video or other documentation can be useful for sharing the residency process, but documentation should not be confused with ownership of the artwork itself. Where a project has special confidentiality, publication or licensing needs, those should be discussed before the residency begins.
