Activities may include tree planting, environmental clean-ups, donating books, creating community art, sharing music and drama, sports with neighbouring schools and other projects agreed with the community.

The activity itself is only one part of service learning. Participants are encouraged to understand why the work matters, who it serves and how a small contribution fits into the needs of the surrounding community.
