The Nano Farm is Tafaria's living agricultural classroom where visitors experience farming through direct participation. Purpose

The Nano Farm was established to help children, families, farmers and visitors understand where food comes from and to appreciate modern, sustainable farming practices. It supports Tafaria's belief that learning is most powerful when people experience it first-hand.

Farm Enterprises

The Nano Farm integrates crops, livestock and demonstration units. Depending on the season, visitors may see vegetables, fruit, herbs and other crops together with rabbits, chickens, sheep and other farm animals. The farm continually evolves as a learning environment.

Learning by Doing

Visitors are encouraged to participate where appropriate. Children can feed rabbits, chickens and sheep, meet chicks and lambs, observe daily farm routines and discover the importance of animal welfare, soil health and responsible food production.

Agriculture Education

School groups use the Nano Farm to learn about food systems, biodiversity, nutrition, environmental stewardship and careers in agriculture. The farm demonstrates that agriculture combines science, creativity, business, technology and practical problem-solving.

The Nano Farm also supports the Tafaria–CKL Africa Farming Knowledge & Advisory Centre. Farmers, students and neighbouring communities can access practical demonstrations, technical advice and trusted agricultural knowledge while learning from experts and local experience.
